Our hiking and discovery journeys are suitable for anyone with a normal level of health, fitness and stamina. For our trekking journeys a good physical fitness and endurance is required. Daily hikes last up to 6 hours, with elevation gains and descents of up to 1,000 meters, depending on the journey.
Your belongings are divided between a small daypack that you carry during the hikes and a travel bag that is transported by the local logistics team. During the trek, your main luggage is transported by mules, so you only carry a daypack with essentials such as water, warm layers, rain protection, and personal items. Your main luggage will be available again each evening at camp. Please bring a soft duffel bag (no hard suitcase), as it is easier to load onto donkeys and mules.
No special hiking gear is required, but technical clothing is always helpful.
• Light trousers, shorts, or leggings with a T-shirt are sufficient
• In winter: bring an extra layer
• In summer: hats are essential
When visiting villages, please cover shoulders and legs to respect local traditions. Avoid jeans – they are not comfortable for hiking.
For trekking journeys you will also need a daypack of around 25 liters and a sleeping bag liner for overnight stays in camps. For the trekking days, a sleeping bag with a comfort rating of 0°C is required (available for rental for €40). Please bring a flashlight or headlamp, personal medication (for example for headaches, colds, or digestive issues), and sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
We recommend bringing telescopic trekking poles, functional underwear, swimwear, and comfortable shoes (such as sneakers). You may also wish to pack a camera or binoculars, a pocketknife, snacks such as energy bars, drink powder, and a small toiletry kit with biodegradable soap, a towel, tissues, and toilet paper.

Hotel categories in Morocco follow the local classification system and may not always match the standards you might be used to in Europe.
Many accommodations on this trip are traditional Moroccan buildings such as riads, kasbahs, or auberges. These properties are often restored historic houses built in traditional style.
Because the original architecture of these buildings has often been preserved, rooms can vary in size, layout, and equipment. This gives the accommodations their authentic character but may mean less uniformity than in modern hotels.
