Moderate hike in the Anti-Atlas
We enter the impressive Assads Gorge, also known as Cedar Valley. Surrounded by warm-colored sedimentary rock formations, the landscape reveals surprisingly lush vegetation — a striking contrast to the otherwise dry scenery typical of this region.
Our hike follows an ancient irrigation system that has supported life here for generations. Walking alongside the gently flowing water, we pass small terraced fields and shaded sections with dense plant life, while dramatic views of the steep canyon walls accompany us along the way.
At the end of the trail, we reach a clear natural spring — a peaceful and refreshing place to pause before continuing through steeper sections of the gorge with spectacular viewpoints.
