Is this trip suitable for people with limited mobility?
No. Unfortunately, this journey is not suitable for travelers with limited mobility, as it includes walking stages and uneven terrain.
What fitness level is required?
This trip is classified as Difficulty Level 2 (Easy).
It is ideal for active beginners who enjoy nature and light hiking.
How long are the daily hikes?
Daily walking times are usually up to 4 hours, with ascents and descents of up to 400 meters, occasionally slightly more.
Do I need hiking experience?
No extensive experience is required.
You should enjoy outdoor activities and be comfortable walking on uneven paths or natural trails.
How should I prepare for the trip?
We recommend starting light endurance training 2–3 months before departure, such as brisk walking or Nordic walking once per week for about an hour.
What equipment is required for the trekking days?
Essential equipment includes a daypack (around 30 L), ankle-high hiking boots with good grip, a waterproof jacket and rain pants, and warm clothing layers. You should also bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), a water bottle with at least 1 liter capacity, a headlamp or flashlight, and your personal toiletries and medication.
Do I need a sleeping bag for the desert trek?
Yes, a sleeping bag with a comfort rating of around 0°C is required.
If needed, you can rent one locally (approx. €40–€60) before the trek.
Can I store luggage during the desert trekking days?
Yes. Before the desert trek begins, you can leave part of your luggage safely at the last accommodation, free of charge.
Can I ride a camel during the trek?
Yes. Camels carry your luggage, and if you wish you can book a riding camel for approx. €20 per day.
What kind of accommodation is used during the desert trek?
During the trekking days you stay in mobile desert camps with 2-person tents (e.g., North Face Stormbreak tents or similar).
Can I give equipment to the trekking team?
Yes, if you wish. Items such as hats, gloves, hiking gear, headlamps, or trekking poles are often appreciated by the local team.
Are tips expected in Morocco?
Yes. Tipping is a common way to show appreciation for good service in Morocco.
